An Arkansas Advanced Energy Program

The purpose of the Arkansas Advanced Energy SkillSeekers Program is to integrate talent in an equitable career pipeline for the advanced energy economy. We seek to empower all who are new to the advanced energy sector on their career paths through extensive resources, networking and opportunities for growth.

Program Benefits

SkillSeekers gain access to:

  • Two one-on-one meetings with AAEF’s Director of Workforce Development to identify relevant skills and help map your specific career path;

  • An industry-specific job board with early access to job listings*;

  • Opportunities to engage with industry leaders through webinars and networking events;

  • Connections to programs for mentorship, job shadowing, trainings and support services;

  • Resources such as career exploration sites, other industry job boards and newsletters, and credential options;

  • Regular email communication about industry news, job postings, and external opportunities, and

  • Invites and discounted fees for AAEA member-only events.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Residency: must be residents of Arkansas or attending an Arkansas-based educational institution.

  2. Commitment: must demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in Arkansas’s energy sector. 

Application Process

  1. Apply Online: Complete the online application, which includes:

    • A current resume highlighting relevant coursework, internships, or work experience

    • A personal statement (up to 250 words) explaining your interest in the energy sector and how participation in SkillSeekers will support your career goals in Arkansas.

  2. Review: Applications will be reviewed by AAE staff.

  3. Notification: Successful applicants will be notified via email and provided with further instructions for program participation.

SkillSeekers FAQ

  • Yes, SkillSeekers is designed to accommodate both students and working professionals. Program activities, such as webinars and networking events, are scheduled at various times to ensure accessibility.

  • The program lasts one year. After that, you may be eligible for individual membership with AAEA.

  • Yes, there is a $25 program fee to join SkillSeekers. Any other costs associated with these events will be communicated to you in advance, ensuring transparency and allowing you to plan accordingly. The program fee is a valuable investment in your professional growth within the advanced energy sector.
