April 30 is National Apprenticeship Day

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is a nationwide celebration to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for strengthening our economy by developing a highly skilled workforce to meet industry needs and creating pathways for career seekers to catapult into in-demand jobs.

The U.S. Department of Labor coordinates NAW in order to promote Registered Apprenticeship, in accordance with the National Apprenticeship Act (50 Stat. 664; 29 U.S.C. 50).  Events are hosted by ApprenticeshipUSA partners, employers, apprentices and graduates, industry representatives, labor organizations, community-based organizations, workforce partners, educational institutions, and federal, state, and local government agencies and more.

Last year marked 10 years of NAW, with over 2,500 apprenticeship events and proclamations in all states and several territories. In response to stakeholder feedback, we moved NAW to the Spring, with a weeklong celebration to resume in 2026. To help with the shift, there will be a single National Apprenticeship Day on April 30, 2025!
